My teaching approach:
I teach dedicated individuals on a one to one basis, who love music and who want to learn how to play the piano well. I teach beginners and non-beginners of any age, ability and cultural background.
Under my guidance and providing you are committed to spending time at home applying yourself to the necessary practice involved, you can expect to achieve the following;
Play pieces and styles you love. I can help you develop and build your own preferred repertoire and introduce you to new and exciting music along the way.
Acquire good piano technique via the principals of traditional classical training.
Opportunities to take part in pupil concerts which I organise from time to time. This is a good opportunity to build confidence in performance and to share music socially with others.

To develop a deeper knowledge and thus greater appreciation of musical styles, composers and their historic backgrounds.

Practical and theory exam grades should you wish to progress through the grade levels.

Develop techniques in sight reading, ensemble, composition and aural skills.
Receive newsletters each term.
Opportunities to be involved in trips to concerts.

The Lessons
Whether face to face or online, all lessons take place in my home
studio.
Although I strongly recommend a minimum of two hourly lessons per month, the frequency and time length can be arranged according to my client’s requirements.
All pupils enjoy and benefit from the experience of playing on my acoustic grand pianos.
Parents may sit in on the lessons of younger children. Observing a lesson first hand provides an insight into how the lessons are structured, their content and what I reasonably expect regarding practice at home.

I offer two initial trial lessons before progressing to full term of lessons. Pupils are reserved their specific time slot and a confirmation of lesson dates are sent out prior to each new month.
More detailed information is available in my terms and conditions of tuition which can be accessed for perusal at the time of enquiry. Further clarification can be also given at this stage if required.
I look forward to welcoming you on board!
